...the Sony Alpha A200 - not the best on the market by any stretch of the imagination, but a solid entry level DSLR, and it was half the price of the comparable Nikon and Canon models. Sony bought out Minolta awhile back, and apparently old Minolta lenses are compatible, so I am hoping the collection of lenses from my old Minolta 35mm will work with this camera - haven't dug them out yet to test that theory.
Got to play with it a bit after work, mostly on Auto - it's been a helluva long time since I played around with shutter speeds, aperture settings, ISO's and all that crap, so I'm gonna have to teach myself all that stuff again. Seems to be a good camera so far, and the first few pictures I took outside today all turned out pretty well. Here's one I took of some ducks nesting in the creek bed nearby...

I've barely scratched the surface of the different things it can do, but I look forward to playing around with it in the weeks to come.
